Hi everyone! Does anyone know if Harvard rescinds acceptances based on AP scores? I’m obviously going to study and try to pass all of them, but are there negative repercussions for, say, getting 1’s and 2’s on all five of my exams?
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of any rescinding due to AP scores. Are you obligated to share those scores before you know what they are? Bigger question: why are you doing so badly in your AP classes if you’re Harvard material (not just ability but effort)?
They do not
OP doesn’t say that they’re doing badly in class.
It’s not conceivable to me that someone connected/involved enough to have been admitted to Harvard, goes to a school completely dissociated from its own final assessments. Therefore, I’m correlating an expected 1 or 2 on an AP exam (five of them!) with doing poorly in the classes meant to prepare for those exams.
My mistake for not providing any context; I’m earning all A’s and a B in all my classes. I feel somewhat prepared for the exams, but I have not been studying for them this year as much as I did last year. I wanted to see if anyone on this forum had heard of stories about AP scores and their impact on admissions offers, not that I knew I was definitely going to fail my exams. I earned 4’s and 5’s last year for the AP exams and reported those—I’m hopping off this forum now to get back to studying!
Asking follow-up questions is generally a more effective strategy in assisting freaked out teenagers than assuming facts not in evidence.
Anyway, good luck to the OP and congratulations.
I think don’t automatically report your scores (until you see what they are); study as hard as you can because it’s worth knowing and learning the material; don’t worry about them rescinding for this reason.
