AP Scores in Admissions Process

i notice that a lot of the top schools such as princeton, MIT, cornelll, penn, harvard…etc want you to list AP scores.
Is this mandatory? I want to apply to these schools, but i got two 3’s and a 4. I dont care that it won’t get me credit, but i’m scared that it will affect me largely in the admissions process to these top schools.
Our school’s transcript don’t show them. And i took the AP classes. So will they also smell something fishy if i don’t list them yet i took AP classes?

It is not mandatory, but strongly recommended. You passed the exam and it can’t hurt you, it can only help. I know of several people who got a 2, mostly 3’s & 4’s and still got into Berkeley.

They might think you were lazy or something and didn’t take the exam?
