How much do AP scores (for this year) matter once you’ve been admitted? If I don’t do well, should I be worried? What are the repercussions?

Don’t worry. Just get a 3<

The only repercussions are that you might not get college credit for the AP course. As some APs do not give credit no matter how well you do on those tests, it really isn’t an issue. To my knowedge, a 3 will not garner any credit, but a 4 in some of the more “objective” offerings (like Physics B or Chem) will be sufficient to get you out of the Core in those subjects.

Not passing the AP tests will NOT induce the admissions office to rescind your offer of admission. Do your absolute best, though, because AP credits can give you a ton of elective credits that will make your life easier once you get here. I came in with 10 scores of 5 and 2 scores of 4; although I am not allowed to use all of these credits (since a certain number of courses must be completed at the university), I have enough credits to take only 3 courses every quarter and STILL graduate a year early. This frees up a lot of time for me to explore subject areas just for fun and just because I have the time. (It’ll speed up the Core, as well).
