Ap scores

So how exactly do colleges view ap scores for rising freshmen applicants? Will a low score (such as a 1 or 2) destroy your chances at a top-20 university, or do most of them only look at it after acceptance for introductory credits?

You aren’t forced to reveal your AP scores to colleges.

Wouldn’t that look suspicious though? If you take 10+ AP’s but don’t show scores, won’t they think you just breezed through the classes with possible grade deflation? And what if you showed all of them minus one or two. Wouldn’t that be even worse?

You should take them seriously, but u might have to take those classses again in college so yea

Yeah, that’s true, but also remember that xthrillakillax is right, you don’t have to tell them your scores. Therefore, they’re not on par with sat subject tests, the SAT Reasoning, GPA, or extracurriculars. They’ll help, but don’t stress.

“If you hail from a school that’s considered competitive and you’re aiming at the most selective colleges, your chances of admission could be affected by AP exam scores or even by the fact that you list AP classes on your transcript but don’t submit the test results. In such cases, adcoms will wonder if you were too chicken (or lazy) to tackle the test or may assume that your scores were even worse than they really were.”
