AP screener exames?

All of the AP classes I signed up for have hour-long screening tests. I know nothing about them other than that we must ‘successfully pass’ the test to get into the class.
Are they difficult to pass/should I study? I’m taking AP Chem, Lang, Psych, and Stats, and I am supposed to take AP Calc AB if I can find somewhere to take trig during the summer but I am unsure whether I will still have to take the screener for that later.

*Sorry for the misspelled title.

My school required pre-tests last year, and they were insanely difficult because we had no previous knowledge of the content. They have, however, waived the pretest requirement for next year and now only a 240 on HSPA is required (total joke -_- )

But anyway, I guess it’s circumstantial for each school, but my AP Eng/Comp test consisted of stuff you would learn during the course (tone, diction, rhetoric, purpose, etc.) and the APUSH test was a copy of the multi choice from a previous AP test which included loads of stuff we hadn’t even learned yet!! Thankfully I passed both by 2 points haha.

I didnt study, but in hindsight, maybe I should have…
I would suggest talking to people you know who currently take those courses, and ask them what topics the teacher focuses on, and what their AP pre test was like.
If the teacher is nice enough maybe you can stop by and ask them about the test and try to get a general idea about what will be on it.

Also, make sure to ask if they have pre-test study guides available at your SPS/guidance office, many schools do.

That’s what I was concerned about…I have never learned about these subjects before.
Thanks. I will ask them about it. ^^
