since mostly every non native is stressing on the 20 sec speaking i thought it would be good idea to ask
- what is good introductory line that would was 20 sec( like hi i haven’t seen u in long time and such, not just hola)
- and whats a good way to say bye

-since there is going to be around 5 lines you have to say 20 sec each the hi and bye is always tehre so thats two, what should you study for the other three, besides commands and recomendations??

I’d say some idioms, maybe.

I was thinking “Oyeeee, hombre! Que pasa, ninooooo?” in a really hearty tone… Ha ha. Dunno if that’ll go over well.

I also want to know… what if the recording thing cuts you off? Do they mark off points for that?

nope, as long as you speak for the full time, you wont get points off. Now if you say meaningless things and dont address the question, then points are taken off.

do they give you anytime before to kinda review what you are supposed to say or are you suddenly on the spot and as they talk you have to read what you are supposed to say and say it

You have time to review it before but once the convo begins you are on the spot.

we’ve done lots of practices in my class. in the test book they have the outline of the situation and they give you 30 seconds to read it. then they tell you a little bit more detailed summary of the situation, then you get a minute to reread the outline of the conversation and then it starts.

These are hard even in Chinese (my second language)…geez, for Spanish? If I fail, this is why.

Basically, the best strategy is to repeat yourself…don’t be nervous, try not to stutter, and self-correct if needed.

The only thing I’m good at is greeting and saying goodbye XD
