Write practice essays on many different topics. You can learn words about politics, the environment, the education system… learn them by using them.

Also, just speaking to other people in spanish (preferably the people that can also speak Spanish, but that’s not necessarily required) as much as possible helps you to find the holes in your vocabulary. If you need to know a word, it will most likely come up in conversation at least once in your life. Don’t know it? Look it up later, and in the meantime, work your way around it. (i.e. if you don’t know the word for “waiter”, you can say “the person who brings food”, etc.)

Quien sabes? Necesito saber ahora.

La única manera de aprender las palabras es practicar! Usa las palabras cuando puedas!

good answer.

Lo que dije, más or menos. Todos estamos de acuerdo. Hablar es útil, también, y escuchar. Es posible conversar con tu maestro? Hay hispanohablantes? Yo tenía una amiga mexicana con quien me acostumbraba a conversar, y éso me ayudó muchísimo cuando llegó el mes de mayo. :)
