AP Statistics Free Response Answers

Because the College Board has not released their scoring guidelines, I want to see if CC can compile their own answers for the Statistics exam. Please verify your answers before posting and clearing state which question and which part you are answering.

for #3 (Probability, M=D+E):

(a) .0912
(b) .2494
(c) .0105

and for #6:

(b) chi-square = 12.068
(c) P-value = 0.21, fail to reject Ho
(d) chi-square to reject is 16.92

From what I remember, your answers are exactly what I got. That makes me feel much better.

3c is ehhhhhhh

i got 0.1042 or something like that -_-

everything else is right

how do u do 3(b)?

does anyone know the ansewr to 1c?
i think i misread the question

b/c i said if u dont want the children to wint he game… place it farther away from the cluster (median) of the data

but i believe… the question asked for “maximizing wins”- which i believe was only stated in part b, not c

IM DEAD

3b:

3 nCr 3 * (.0912)^3 + 3 nCr 2 * (.0912)^2 * (.) + 3 nCr 1 * (.0912) * (.)^2
1 * (.0912)^3 + 3 * (.0912)^2 * (.) + 3 * (.0912) * (.
)^2
=.249406

Or you could use 1 - binomCdf(3, .0912, 0) but I wanted to avoid writing down any calculator commands. I used the conventional form of nCr.

Hmm, somehow .0912’ is bad? .9 0 8 8 replaces the asterisks

bump 10char

do we still get credit if we had the right answer on 3b but used a binomial distribution?

what about the other questions… the plot one. s is around 2 what does that mean in terms of the study, and what is the standard error?!?

I got those answers for the FR also, except for 3c cuz i didn’t know what tod do. what a relief! btw, MC was such a breeze
