<p>It would be a good idea to understand how the formulas work, yes. From what I know, you’re given very abstract versions of the formulas on the test (i.e. estimator +/- margin of error), so knowing what the margin of error, estimator, and other terms are would help you, especially on the free response portion. So-called “TI speak” (i.e. binomialcdf) is generally frowned upon on the free response questions.</p>
