AP Statistics Text

I’m Self Studying Stats. Do you guys think it would be okay to get the 2003 edition of “The Practice of Statistics” by Yates and Moore. Or should i get the newest/ a newer version. I want to get the 2003 editiion b/c it’s much, much cheaper.

Is there a significant difference between the 2003 and the 2006 Edition of the book…or did the authors make a new edition just for the money?

thanx in advance.

Either version is fine. It’s a great book.

I’m taking AP Stats through my school and we’re using the 2003 book.

It’s a great book, I don’t think the changes are so significant that it would warrant spending more money.

^ that’s exactly what i wanted to hear. thanx…stay awesome.

yeah im taking the AP stats through my school too and we are using the 2003 book.

It is an amazing book, the only one recommended by collegeboard.

100% satisfaction guaranteed lol

2003 is very good, no complaints here.

I bought a 2006 edition to self-study. I hope that it isn’t that much different in comparison.

Well it will just be more up to date =]

If I was self studying I would always choose the newer edition…but that’s just me =]

another quetion.

What’s the difference between…

“The practice of Statistics” by Yates and David S.
and
“The basic practice of Statistics” by David S. moore

is the latter NOT used for AP statistics?

I have a feeling that the first book is used for college level statistics courses, whereas the second book is for an intro to statistics and is therefore on a less complex level. I think you can liken it to using a high school chemistry book, or any science book on that level, compared to using a more difficult book for AP classes.

^ can anyone concur with the above statement? Is anyone 100% sure?

idk but get the practice of statistics

*The practice of Statistics" by Yates and David S.
*

This is the one you want.

ugh!!!..i’m on half.com…and even the 2002 edition for “The practice of Statistics” is expensive…what are some other textbooks used for AP stats?

There is a “The Basic Practice of Statistics” on half.com, and it’s much cheaper…but i don’t know if it is used for AP stats…grrrrrrr…I NEED MONEY. o_O lol

practice of statistics is the ONLY textbook made recommended for AP stats by collegeboard
