Ap test rave

Are AP tests that important in college? My teachers have said that top schools like Harvard and Yale require you to retake courses in which you’ve taken AP tests and scored a 5 on. Is that true? If so, wouldn’t that just be a waste of money?

Depends on the college, look on the website or call them? Most colleges accept the credit!

I belieive many top 30s dont take AP credits even if you do get a 5, either way they love to see 5s so just for the increased admission chances it is good to put your best effort on the AP tests.

Incorrect, perform your own research and find that many universities will post specifically, which tests for and how much credit they give for AP tests. Examples:

Cornell: http://www.cals.cornell.edu/cals/current/registrar/current-students/upload/Advanced-Placement-2010_2011-2.pdf</a>
Harvard: [Advanced Standing: General Information](http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~advising/advanced/general.html)
MIT: [MIT Prospective Students: Advanced Placement, IB, and GCE A-Level Credit](http://web.mit.edu/firstyear/prospective/ap/index.html)

As you can see, acceptance of these varies widely per university so you should research individually for each university.
