Ap test

High I was wondering what would be some easy ap tests to take without taking the class. I would study by myself but would want a fairly easy subject.

Everyone has a different definition for “easy”. I’m not an artistic person, so AP Studio Art: Drawing would be a nightmare for me, and I’d rather prefer AP Psychology or something. Do you like art? If so, then consider an art course. If not, give us some details on what subjects you find interesting.

Personal opinion, from easiest to hardest, the ones I’ve taken:

AP U.S. Government and Politics
AP Macroeconomics / Microeconomics
AP Calculus BC
AP World History
AP Physics C
AP English Literature and Composition
AP French Language and Culture

This really begs the question: Why do you want to self study an AP? What colleges are you targeting? If you’re looking for college credit at a tippy top school, they most likely won’t give credit for “easy” AP’s. If you’re looking for college credit at a directional state school, by all means, go for it. If you’re looking to strengthen your college application/impress admissions officers, you’re out of luck.

I was looking to strengthen my college app

It won’t.

Last Spring, I went to an Exploring College Options event, which had reps from Harvard, Stanford, Penn, Duke, and Georgetown. During the Q&A, someone asked, “What do you think of applicants who self-study for additional AP’s over and above the AP classes they take?” One rep responded, “Please don’t do that. We’re not impressed by that.” The other reps all nodded.

Wow thanks that just saved me a ton of time, but if I was going to the sat 2 for us history should I still try to the take the ap test just to see if I get a 5? And by the way I’m not taking any aps just honors because as a junior my school offers very little aps and there very hard to get into them.

If you’re taking Honors USH and want to try your hand at taking the AP exam, feel free. But buy a good review book and review old exams, as the Honors class will most likely not teach you how to analyze Document Based Questions.
