Ap us history dbq/frq

Hi, so in my APUSH class my teacher likes to have his FRQ/DBQ’s written with partitions such as: economically, politically, and socially. I was wondering if that’s how formal DBQ’s and FRQ’s are written because when I do this, I have a central idea and everything, but my partitions are very long. Do AP graders want an intro like this?

-a general introduction of topic
-central idea
-partitions: Politically, Socially, and Economically

it depends on the prompt. You don’t have to partition yours politically, economically, and socially.

for last year’s prompt (part C), one of the options was

Choose TWO of the following organizations and explain their strategies for advancing
the interests of workers. To what extent were these organizations successful in
achieving their objectives? Confine your answer to the period from 1875 to 1925.
Knights of Labor
American Federation of Labor
Socialist Party of America
Industrial Workers of the World

So, for this one, just write an introduction, one paragraph on this labor union, one paragraph on the other labor union, and conclusion. That would be the usual structure that most people would used.

You can only partition politically, socially, and economically if the prompt asks for it

oh ok i see, so the prompt you posted will mostly likely be about labor unions and their social goals for higher wages and lower working hours, and if those goals were successful or not.

thanks

You can also go to AP Central to look at the prompts of past FRQ’s and read sample essays.
