For those of you who have take the AP US History exam, what major time-periods/events did you find most on the exam? FOR EXAMPLE, last year in AP World History, I found a lot of questions and essays relating to Muslims

bump .

these were the big topics when i took the ap us test:
-progressive era
-great depression
-exploration of west
this one was surprising, but lots of questions and an essay on it:
-changes and movements in 1960s and 1970s

we even had a question about clinton’s impeachment on ours

good luck on the test

so Im guessing a lot of the exam was focused on the later… 19th 20th century huh?

the reason Im asking is cause I joing AP US Hisotry recently so Im really not well educated on the earlier part of history

The DBQ last year was on the American Revolution.

I second the progressive era, great depression, etc. It was weird how they seemed to throw in the Clinton impeachment question.

Know the treatment of Indians. I know there was a question on the Ghost Dance. There was also a question on a Supreme Court Case (Dartmouth College v. Woodward?-about charters/contracts). When my class was studying for the exam, we went president by president with key events and contributions. We also studied famous Supreme Court Cases.

The Amsco US History book helped a lot. I got a 5 on the exam. Any questions, just ask.

My AP History teacher last year found a way to relate almost everything back to Jefferson vs. Hamilton’s views on government ie: big vs. small government, states rights vs. rights of the federal government, agrarian vs. industrial etc. This theme can be found in many of the DBQs and make for excellent compare/contrast essays.
