Is the best way to answer a DBQ/FRQ by addressing the Social, Political and Economic issues? We were practicing this is APUSH but I dont know if this is the best way? And how exactly could you apply it to DBQ/FRQ? If you wanted to address the Social, Economic and Political issues raised by the attack on Pearl Harbor what would be the ideal way to approach this scenario and what should you come up with in that 15 min. prep time?

Off the top of my head:

social: brought the American public to agreement about joining WWII
political: America joins the Allies; war fever
economic: boom in industry (steel, manufacturing, job explosion, etc.)

That took like two seconds, so there should be more that you can write about in the allotted 15 minutes.

I usually start with an introduction paragraph (thesis statement and “road map” of the essay), then go on to the separate issues (each with its own paragraph, making sure each piece of evidence is relevant, demonstrating a profound specific knowledge of the subject in the process), then concluding with misc. information still relevant to the DBQ that shows a profound general knowledge of the question, finishing it off with a sentence about the immediate effects of the event.

I. Introduction
…A. Question rephrased (and explicitly answered)
…B. Thesis (shortly explaining my answer)
…B. Road Map (how I will present my case)
II - IV. Social; Political; Economical
…A - Y. Examples
…Z. Transition
V. Conclusion
…A. Thesis restated from a different perspective
…B. Misc. Information
…C. Immediate results of event
