AP USH: Kaplan + Barron's flash = 5?

The title pretty much says it. How effective are Kaplan’s USH and Barron’s flash cards for a 5? Would it be enough if I digest the entire Kaplan book + flash cards for reviewing?

bump…

i’ve taken a good look at kaplan’s APUSH prep book and found it to be less than satisfactory. however, i would seriously recommend AMSCO’s APUSH book which is available on amazon.com. This book is a near substitute for the actually textbook and has great summaries. the only setback for this book is that it has no full length AP tests in it (bummer). AMSCO also has a great DBQ writing section and extensive FRQ possibilities. look into it.

^^^you can get that from here [Product Information](efastcom.com)

yes, pretty much. US history is easy

stockguru92, I’ve heard a lot about AMSCO and I’ve no doubt its excellent, but I can’t buy it because I’m in an international location and can’t afford it, even more so since I already bought Barron’s and Kaplan’s before knowing AMSCO is the THING.

So, besides Narcissa, anyone think that Kaplan’s prep book + Barron’s flashcards = ‘5’?

^bump. Anyone else who studied with barron’s flash + kaplan and got a 5?

I just used Kaplan and got a 5. Of all the study guides, Kaplan happens to be my personal favorite. I like how everything is broken down in Kaplan. And it was really consistent with what I was learning in class.

Kowlon, I can assure you KAPLAN can get you a 5. The AP book is very good, my sister got a 5 using it. She basically depended on it. I don’t doubt that the Barrons will help you as well

thanks guys! This just boosted my confidence, since I was worried that Kaplan was way too concise.

Kowoloon, KAPLAN is somewhat concise (but to the point), just make sure you use your Barrons flashcards too, which should reinforce any “shallow” areas. Also, practice tests will aide immensely in getting a 5. GOOD LUCK

i looked at 1/2 of the Barron’s flash cards-they were quite helpful…

I used the Cliff Notes guide, and the practice tests were especially helpful. I got a 4, but I don’t doubt that someone who studies harder than me and/or doesn’t hate their teacher and pays more attention in class/ or is just plain smarter than me could get a 5 with the guide. Overall, I would just recommend that whatever guide you use, take as many practice tests as humanly possible, it is way more helpful than just trying to digest all the information. Good luck! =)

Use FastTrack to 5. It goes along with the American Pagent text book, but can be bought online seperately. That book alone got me a 5 on the test. I would HIGHLY reccomend it
