AP vs College Credit for Classes Question at Cal

I took AP Calc BC a year ago and got a low score (not high enough for credit for Math 51 and 52), but I also took Calc 1 and 2 at a CCC. I took the AP exam after taking the classes. Do I get the college credit anyways? Or does berkeley care if the exam was after one of the classes and that I got a low score?
Basically, is it guaranteed that the credit will transfer for a first year even with a low AP score?

As long as the CCC course was UC transferable, then you’re all set. The AP score doesn’t matter. If you want to double check how/if your CCC course will transfer, you can view the relevant articulation agreement at assist.org

Does https://assist.org list those college courses as transferring as Math 51 and 52?

However, if you got an AP score of 2 or lower, then that may call into question the quality of teaching in those calculus courses if you earned A or B grades in them, or it may call into question how well you retained the knowledge between the courses and AP exam.

You may want to try the old UCB Math 51 (formerly 1A) and 52 (formerly 1B) final exams to check your knowledge. Some can be found at Mathematics Courses - Tau Beta Pi, California Alpha Chapter

YAY! Perfect, it is transferable! Thank u so much

UCs may actually insist you take the credit (whether from APs or DE) and refuse to allow you to repeat the lower level course. That was certainly the case for my S (at another UC, not Cal): he had to take Calc 3 in his first term with a 4 in Calc BC. They want you in and out as soon as possible, not hanging around beyond 4 years.
