AP vs. Subject Test/Teacher Recs

I plan on applying to Stanford SCEA for fall 2010 admissions. I take the SAT Subject Test Nov. 7, but the deadline for SCEA is Nov. 1. I plan to take the subject test in literature since I want to major in Englsih. I have taken the AP Englsih language subject test and I scored a 4. Next fall I will take the English Lit. AP exam. Is it better for me to just send Stanford my AP English scores? Will they even look at the AP scores since I don’t have subject test scores?

I also have a question about teacher recomendations. I know Stanford requires 2 recomendations from teachers in core classes, and I have one from a Englsih teacher, but will Stanford accept a recomendation from a Theater Teacher or my AVID teacher. I feel they know me very well.

Get your two core LOR and then add an optional one from the theater or AVID teachers.

Why aren’t you taking the Subject Test is early October, prior to the SCEA deadline?

I am taking the SAT in October.I thought about taking the subject test in October prior to the deadline, but I decided not to since they are “recomended” and not required as the SAT scores are a requirement.

For the Theater/AVID question: not as a teacher recommendation (has to be humanities, social science, math, or science), but as an optional recommendation, yes.
