I have an upcoming unit test in my AP World class on Units 5 and 6. In the past, I’ve gotten B’s and although that’s a good grade, I want to do better. For context, this is my first AP Class. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to study? It would be especially helpful to know of good study websites. Thank you!
Not a website, but most of the major test prep companies publish study guides for AP courses. Barron’s and Princeton Review both have pretty good study books for AP World.
Thank you so much! I’ll go check that out
Have you tried Khan Academy? They have several AP prep lessons.
Heimler’s History on Youtube has great videos to watch for each unit.
Just search up “Heimler’s History Unit 5 [or 6] Review” and it should show up.
Great brief overview to watch before. He also goes over how to write the AP-type essays in other videos if you need to understand the rubric!
I agree! YouTube is surprisingly overlooked by people who need to study for APs.
I would recommend that you speak with your current AP teacher and let them know that you would like to improve your grade. The majority of teachers want to help their students and they may be able to provide resources to review (or recommend from the great ideas you received from other posters) plus they could review your past work in the class to show you what would have made it A work.
Get used to working with your teachers now and you will be way ahead when you enter college in a few years and are comfortable engaging with your professors.
