APAH over a 2 year time lapse?

I was wondering if it’d be safe to start getting ready for APAH for one year, and study the next. I have too many AP’s (for me, not the average CC’er) for junior year, so I was planning on getting my resources, tables, guides, and all together for SENIOR year, and take the APAH test then.

I think the studying in a two year lapse will be a little more obnoxious, but definitely easier, I also plan to take the course in FLVS.

Suggestions? Comments?

If you think taking taking APAH would be better next year, then of course take it next year  There’s nothing worse than stretching yourself over more things than you can handle, which ends up with INTENSE cramming and…well, tends to end badly (at least for me).
So if you want to start preparing for next year, why not? I guess then next year you’ll be totally prepared to just jump right in, and I’m not sure how much more valuable a new edition might be. Probably not much.
I suggest the Gardner’s “Art Through the Ages” textbook; it’s pretty huge but it’s really good to have a book with all the nice glossy pictures in it, lol, and a good visual for the order of all the art periods. The absolute BEST review book I’ve ever bought was the APAH review from REA ([Amazon.com: AP Art History with Art CD and TESTware (REA) (Test Preps) (9780738604794): Frank Chmiel, Larry Krieger: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Art-History-TESTware-Test-Preps/dp/0738604798/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1309713050&sr=8-3)). It comes with a CD with pics on it that you can test yourself with and there are 2 or 3 practice tests.

MAKE FLASHCARDS AND A TIMELINE FOR THE ART PERIODS!! I’m a visual learner and like to see the big picture and this tip was important! Make flashcards with the ~10 most important art pieces for every art period, with artist, location, medium, and historical context on it. Also make a chart with quick adjectives and explanations for each art period so you can tell them apart more easily.

APAH is a really fascinating class and honestly, it makes you a really well-rounded person if you can approach a piece of art, brag to your friends, and tell them all about the historical context of the piece, lol

Well, I love art itself. I also love history, it’s my favorite subject in school. So I’m guessing I’ll like it, I just AP Euro and did fine, and I know the art periods pretty well, since I liked the art a lot (renaissance, mannerism, impressionism, etc…), but I guess I need specifics myself. Thanks, I’ll be sure to make flashcards.
