I’m getting some good help from a friend too…but this community seems to have a ton of info! So posting here too.
DD will be moving to the Suwanee/Duluth/Lawrenceville area of Georgia. I would love some feedback on apartments…as well as suggestions.
Looking at
Landmark at Grande Oasis
Century Sugarloaf
Century Riverside
5375 Sugarloaf
Century Pointe at Suwanee Station
We are looking for a one bedroom. We won’t need it until August 1, but could rent as of July 15. We are told the rents change daily, really! We also know we need to call in May because that is when the 60 day notices have to be given.
Any feedback would be great!
Looking for safe, and convenient to Suwanee.
Location, location, location…Finding an apt that has a decent commute to your job is the dream of everyone who moves to the metro Atlanta area. It is worth extra $ to avoid the traffic jams.
Lawrenceville is the worst drawn city. It is oddly shaped, and very long, such that I can leave my house and be in Lawrenceville city limits within 2 minutes, or I can drive 45 minutes away and still be in Lawrenceville. So mapquest your addresses in Lawrenceville to be sure you are still close enough to the job.
In general, L’ville and Duluth can have areas that are nice and safe, ritzy and safe, sketchy, or downright do not even think about living there. We have a very high illegal immigrant population in our county, and some apartments and homes have multiple families crowded into them. (Please don’t hate on me, I’m not sharing my political views, just trying to help a parent get the lay of the land.)
Suwanee seems to be the nicest of the three areas you mentioned, and might have the highest rent prices to match. If the job will be in Suwanee, you could also consider going further north up I-85.
I will PM you and am glad to help out with your search.
