<p>I am a sophomore in arizona and my dream college is the University on Arizona but before I leave for college I want to hike the appalachian trail but will it hurt my chances to get in because I will have to apply for the spring semester when I get back. I will be hiking for 6 months so it will be a long time away from school but I figure it is a good life experience. </p>

GPA W:3.7 by the end of Junior year
SAT: I have not taken it yet but I have been studying and I hope to get a 1800+</p>

<p>I guess the question is what are my chances before and after hiking and will the UofA look down upon me because I took 6 months off of school.</p>
