Appeal Process

Hey my friend got waitlisted after applying to the School of Management. She is an international student in Thailand and I wanted to know is there anything that she can do that can help her get off that waitlist. I want to mention that she would definitely settle for the College of General Studies instead of the School of Management because she just wants to get into BU. Would writing letters, e-mails, or anything like that help? Does anyone know anything about this topic or give any advice about this? I may be very wrong but I am assuming that getting of the waitlist at BU could be easier than other schools due to the fact that I thin BU has a very low yield rate. 59% of students are accepted and the class is comprised of only 4,200 students. That is roughly a 18.7% yield rate based on 38,000 applications although the acceptance rate is probably lower this year because of the increase in applications. Not to get off topic, I really need help with this whole waitlist thing.

Thanks to anyone that can help me.

Since I’m sure visiting from Thailand isn’t really possible. Letters or emails would definitely be the way to go. They do look at that. Let them know that you are still interested. If visiting is possible, do that and let them know you are a waitlisted student and still interested. Just don’t overdo it and be creepy there is a line between zealous academic and stalker :-)

Good luck!!!

Haha thank you lostandfound. So basically just let BU know that my friend is still a very interested applicant. There is a chance she may be able to visit so if she does, a visit to the admissions office is a must I guess? Anyone else have input besides letters and visiting the admissions office?

Thanks again
