I have heard a few times about students going to the school they are appealing and getting an interview or something in addition to all the paperwork. Am I right about this? I can’t find anything on the UC websites about appealing in person, but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

I don’t think so.

I’ve read on CC that people have turned in their stuff to UCB in person. However, I have not heard of people appealing in person.

From myBerkeleyApp:
“Q: Can I appeal my admission decision?
A: We strongly discourage letters of appeal unless you can provide significant new information for us to consider. Our transfer selection process involves a careful review and it is very unlikely that we will choose to reverse our original decision. If you do have significant new information to present and decide to appeal our admission decision, please submit your request in writing, postmarked by May 15. Include your UC application ID number in your letter and submit it with all accompanying materials in a single envelope. We do not accept appeals by telephone, fax or email. Log onto myBerkeleyApplication for your appeal decision.”

They all say to submit in writing, but I’m wondering if you could show up as well. I don’t know. It doesn’t specifically say not to do anything in person either though.

UCSD only take appeals online. I don’t know about other schools though. Personally, I would do exactly what they request.

i dont think UCs accept appeals in person. Majority of colleges only accept appeals in writing. (a lot of people would try to appeal in person if it actually worked)

Yeah, I just heard that they could do it in addition to the writing. Oh well, thank you.
