I am trying to help a friend’s son who is 7% in his senior class and was interested in electrical engineering at UT Austin. He was offer CAP and would like to appeal.
Is there any particular way to proceed in doing so? Any particular “tricks” (for lack of better word) as to what he needs to include to make his appeal stand out?
Appeals likely only work if there’s new info. People try and conjure up new info where there isn’t.
Lots of great schools to study ECE. Find Plan B.
But here is how to appeal.
Submit your appeal along with the following:
One short answer (500 words or fewer) to the following prompt:”Describe the new information (not already included in your original application) that should be considered by the appeals committee, and why. This new, significant and/or compelling information can be related to your academic performance, extracurricular activities or a description of the extenuating circumstances.
Any relevant supplemental information (optional):
One letter of recommendation from a teacher, school official or community member who can speak to the nature of the appeal, which should include compelling background.
