Appetite for corporate background candidates in MPA/IR programs

Hi,

I am looking forward to views about the appetite for candidates with robust corporate background in public admin/IR courses such as KSG, Woody Woo, Johns Hopkins, SIPA etc? Are there links/studies that show the diversity of entrants into these courses so I could have good understanding of the process before beginning to apply to these places? If anyone is willing to share their details (if they were a similar candidate), that would be fantastic and much appreciated

Thanks in advance!

Well, I have no answers for you, just the same question, so I’ll bump this to the top in hopes someone can share some insight.

Sadly though, I suspect the answer will be that corporate experience is valued over no experience, but not valued all that highly unless it’s relevant to your intended graduate pursuits.
