What is your opinion on the collusion to not hire each others employees?

Collusion is not what happened. Steve Jobs told Google don’t hire my people or else. Google complied because if Jobs tells you not to do something you don’t do it.

It went beyond Apple it involved multiple companies

If this article is accurate it is collusion

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/tech-firms-may-no-poaching-005407951.html

My understanding of the deal is that Google and Apple agreed not to contact employees at the other’s company directly. If an employee at one company applied to the other, that was fair game.

The article says the high level executives at the companies knew what they were doing was illegal. One went so far to request only verbal replies to his e-mails.

Steve Jobs instructed Google, “If you hire a single one of these people that means war,”

Sorry, but that is not collusion it is a threat that no one in his right mind would ignore. War with Apple means your company can be destroyed. Google was not always a powerful company especially compared to Apple

Did you read the article- it is about more than Apple and Google. Why do you think there is discussion of a settlement?

If Apple only said -beware if you try to steal our staff we will come hard at hiring your staff I do not think that is a problem. The article seems to imply it was more than that.
