As I already commented on this, just watch this pie in the sky turn into poof when the economy takes a nosedive.
Maybe but they are spending $55 billion this year. That much pie is on the table it seems. Thy are also bringing in $250 billion. Once you have the cash you can take advantage of a recession. Everything gets cheaper. They can build more.
“Spending” not “spent”. I know investors pulling money out of their startup projects without any notice. Call me cynical… Unless the money is already spent, it can be easily “unspent.”
A “domestic supplier” means squat - many of these co’s manufacture their parts abroad. The new campus would house “tech support” aka low paid positions. So it will likely be built - if ever - somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
@BunsenBurner can you give some examples of where you’d consider in the middle of nowhere?
An abandoned fracking town?
Anything wrong with that?
Nope. It will be just as easy to abandon
I don’t want to trust this either. The new tax deal will save Apple so much money, they can throw a few pennies around at us peasants, they can deign to actually build/spend/bank in the US, and I’m glad, but most of that $$ came from US consumers so I don’t feel exactly grateful. At least not considering their past tax cheats and shennanigans.
