<p>i get how boarding school rivalries are super intense my grandfather went to St. George’s i can only picture him rolling over in his grave haha</p>
<p>^glad somebody feels my pain, I was reading my BS list last night to my dad, and every other school he would make a comment like “oh reallly, them?” or “ya, but that campus is nothing compared MY boarding school!” you’d think after 2 1/2 decades that all of the BS competition would wear off. anyway, sorry for my rant</p>
<p>haha thats funny my grandfather is long dead but still i feel your pain what did he say about taft and middlesex ahah</p>
<p>lets see, since Taft and Hotchkiss are Mega Rivals, he said soe things along the lines of “we were better than them hey thought they were so cool, yadda yadda yadda” HIS WORDS NOT MINE!!! and for middlesex, he said it was wayy to small and the kids were sanctimonious , Once again, his words, NOT mine…but ya, basically theres perpetual BS nostalgia (and competiitiviness) in my home. But I have to honestyl say there is a lot more Taft talk than MX because of the whole rivalry and they were so close, and MX is in another state, but they still disliked the school just because of the whole New England BS competition mindset…
But they are both really great schools with (in my opinion) pretty campuses and seem to have good overall “vibes” that I’d be happy to attend = ]</p>
<p>always good to hear a hotchkiss old boy talk. haha there is a school in NYC (pre-prep) which is famous for turning out old boys. it is so funny the kids in my grade at my school put thier hands on their hips lean back and recall about middle school like its was skull and bones at Yale or an eating club at princeton 50 years ago. like when people say remember the good ol’ days im sorry it is hard to describe it is soo much funnier if you see it in person</p>
<p>Personally I would say Taft. I like it because its a little bigger. But then again I love the wood plaques at MX. I can’t choose. I got rejected by both anyways :p</p>

<p>there was a kid at MX who went to the school i mentioned before and the first thing he did i was sitting with some soccer players at a table he comes up and says You’re from the city right? and then he goes "well, im a _______ old boy and leans back hands on hips and then just starts name dropping all the _______ kids who go to my current school sooo funny</p>

I got a feel from both that HK kids seemed really annoying(imo) plus i have opinions of their grads coming at me from mis hermanas. From what they say most of them are really annoying and from the school itself it seemed a bit cold and strict on the rules- both things I can’t stand. TAFT 
on the other hand felt completely warm and comforting. Just sayinnnnn’ </p>

<p>taft and hotchkiss is a bigger rivalry than hotchkiss and mx. hotchkiss kids actualy got into fist fights with taft kids at a football game in 2008. there was like a big brawl</p>

<p>haha just because it’s not in GLADCHEMMS doesn’t make it automatically inferior… honestly it’s which school would be a better school for you. mx is preppier, and more english-orientated, and smaller. mx edges taft out in terms of prestige but that doesnt necessarily make it a better school… fit > prestige ;)</p>
