Hi,
I am a recruited athlete that has applied ED 1 to a D3 school, with it is one of the more elite D3 colleges in terms of academics and athletics. I did have a pre read done and the feedback was positive, and I visited the school recently before I made my decision. The school stopped sending out likely letters this year, but I was told my application would be backed, and they have over a 90% success rate in terms of admissions. I still find myself freaking out though, so would this be considered almost a done deal even though nothings in writing and what does backing really look like?
Edit: No need to respond to this, I am totally just looking for reassurance and can find answers to my questions elsewhere on this site
I don’t think anyone here will have more or better information than you have received directly from the school and coach. But 90% success sounds pretty good to me. Best of luck.
true, I guess Im just trying to be reassured at this point
In this instance, I would say your chances of being admitted are 90%. I don’t think anyone can realistically tell you anything differently. Sit tight. Good luck.
My son is anxiously awaiting ED results as well. He got an “admission likely” pre read. This is a selective D3 where his academics are on the low side but he is probably their number one recruit. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
Agree with what others have said. Other than that, I can offer my experience. My son was recruited to a top 10 D3 school that does not have ED or pre-reads, and his GPA is below the average for the admitted students. He had coach support and was admitted. Good luck to you!
exactly my situation, got the green light but still anxious! Good luck to you guys too!
The waiting is hard - hang in there and know that you did everything you could do and took time to submit a strong app/essays.
Think positive and at this time next year you will be at college and playing your sport with a great group of peers.
