Your URM status will definitely help, however being from NJ will not. You’re applying from a part of the country where they already get a ton of applicants. Your SAT is okay for SFS, same goes for SAT IIs. Won’t get you in or keep you out. Rank is gonna hurt a little, you’re just out of the top 5%, the admit rate for any Gtown applicants in the second 5% is 12%. That’s for ALL the schools at Gtown. How many APs could you have taken? 3 is on the light side. You have really good ECs, but all of them are common among Gtown applicants. Maybe your URM status and the fact you speak Arabic will get you in, but you won’t be the only applicant with those abilities. If I HAD to guess, I would say deferred, but you DEFINITELY could be admitted EA or RD if defferred.

Are you sure that being Middle Eastern is URM status?

I assume so, but I’m not sure, it’s better than being white or asian.

i’m also in three AP’s this year but didnt put them up there because i havent taken the tests yet. my school offers practically NO social science AP’s thats why. I didnt want to be one of those kids who just takes a class because there was an “AP” preceding it.

Besides, I hate science and my school offers 4 of them as AP.

I really feel like my essays are my key in because i’m in that “gray area”- not exceptional but definitely qualified.
The 336 was a guess on my part, I just know i BARELY made top 5% but i’m in there

Thanks for your responses though!

.

I’m interested in learning Arabic. Do you have any recommendations as far as books go?

I might be attending an Arabic Concordia Language Village next summer.
