For some reason, when i view the pdf version of my application (part II), it says I’m interested in a sport - baseball - although I don’t ever recall clicking this, and i’m clearly not interested in mit varsity athletics. I then tried to fix it in the computer version, but there’s no way to “unclick” it, if you know what i mean. Any suggestions? Hopefully, I won’t look stupid for this…sigh
btw, does an additional essay for the addint. info section about a love for nanotechnology suit the section’s purpose, or should I submit an abstract? My abstract is overly complicated, and I don’t think it would help adcoms at all…

I can’t help you with the baseball issue. A similar glitch happened to me wherein one of my classes wouldn’t include the grade in which I took it, but I ended up just submitting my application with that error because it was pretty obvious where it belonged.

I think that a nanotech paper will work for an additional essay as long as it’s different enough from your paper describing which department you’re interested in.

As far as your Spanish goes, the command should be “ayúdenme”, not “me ayudan”, which means “they help me”. And generally you would put “por favor” after the command, but I don’t think that’s necessary.

Voy a ayudarte!

Don’t worry about the athletics thing. There are really two questions there: one involving interest in playing a sport once you get to MIT and the other involving your contact with an MIT coach. Perhaps you accidentally clicked a field? No worries here, Dashboard. (Have you thought of playing baseball for MIT? We had an awesome season last year!) I’ll forward these two issues to our folks who are technologically inclined.

Re: your abstract: I think there is value in either way you’d like to present the nano info. Personally, I think that someone who is a good “explainer,” that is, someone who can clearly state a complicated topic to a lay audience, is a good person to have around. Personally, I also think a talented abstract writer is a good person to have around.
