<p>It depends on the reason. If it’s due to a medical condition, certain family issues, etc., then it is sometimes appropriate to have your HS GC address approach the topic in the SSR.</p>

SSR = Secondary School Report; this is the form in the Common Application that your guidance counselor fills out that contains information about your school, your academic record and an evaluation.</p>
