I am applying for 9th Freshmen, class of 2029
Applying for Andover
I have solid EC, nothing crazy but like mediocre
I am confident I will have strong LORs and I summited extra
I plan on summiting 2 art forms for musical instruments
I thought interview was good, but interviewer was very neutral and monotoned
I reached out to the tennis director and they emailed back
I think my essays are solid and say something special about me
SSAT isn’t the best, 87th percentile
Grades 4.0 GPA
I feel like all together I am just too mediocre, is there anything I can do to really show my interest to Andover, like email specific staff? Thanks
Why is Andover the only school you are applying to? I fear that the competition is steep. Are you set on BA or just Andover vs staying at your current school?
Andover is my first choice, but I’m also applying to Exeter, Choate and some other ones
Have you visited the schools as sometimes they are very different on paper/screen. How many and which others. as these are all the same caliber schools. Your SSAts are fine. But everything about what you present is the same as everyone else. Consider what is making you stand out, What do you bring to the school and why you verse the other 2K+ kids applying. Will you walk on to the tennis varsity team? Does the coach have to have you? Is your art stellar? Just things to consider. If you want BS be sure you cast a wide enough net as too many kids have been disappointed M10.

Agree that your overall SSAT score is a bit low for Andover.
Why do you prefer Andover over other boarding schools ?
