<p>When schools ask you to mail resumes and headshots to its theater department, do you write anything? I’m afraid that they will misplace the headshots, etc.</p>
<p>Just do a cover letter and in the caption of the letter include the I.D. number you were assigned by admissions if the school uses such a procedure.</p>
<p>As a rule, you should always follow up with your schools to find out if they’ve received items you have sent. They are dealing with huge numbers and things DO get misplaced. My son has a very common name and he and I followed up on EVERYTHING sent to make sure, not only that it was received, but that it was also applied to the correct application file. We are still doing that at his current school as there is another freshman with his same name, though they have different majors. He has followed up on everything from the billing department to his dorm assignment.</p>
