Application requirements

I’m an international student applying to berkeley for either Pharmacy or Biotech
I got 8A*s and 2As in my GCSE O-Levels and 4As in AS Level, 2250 in my SATs with 700 in reading, 750 in writing and 800 in math. I was in the school swimming team, and have volunteered at a hospital and taught at a charity school
Do i need to take the SAT subject tests to apply? And what are my chances of getting in?

Berkeley does not offer Pharmacy or Biotech as majors. There is Molecular Toxicology, which is the pre-pharm major and Bioengineering, which may be what you are looking for as “biotech.”

SAT Subject Tests are not required, but “highly recommended” (means you should take them) for Engineering (in the case of Bioengineering, take Math Level 2 and Biology).

Admission evaluation is contextual, meaning your academic and extracurricular achievements are viewed in context of other international students in the year you apply.

Berkeley is general achievement oriented (academic and extracurricular) and the campus is especially interested in students who will take advantage of what Berkeley has to offer and become agents of social change.
