I am an alum interviewer for Lafayette - the email I received today mentioned a drop from last year’s record level of applications, but Admissions was still confident that they would be able to build a good class for '13. I have five interviews to do so far for applicants in my area, had over ten last year…

Baylor-- although this article is a bit cryptic (and looks like it contains a key typo), I could interpret/calculate that Baylor’s apps are up ~24% thus far in the count.

anybody have an idea about Vanderbilt? I saw that they were up 30%! Anyone have any ideas why? - no supplement - the commons -football team? Could that really account for 30%?!

What’s surprising to me about the Harvard number is that this is only the third year in a row they’ve set a new record. What the heck happened 3-1/2 years ago for Harvard to have a down year? Was that the middle of the Larry Summers controversies?

Beside the growth of applicants to public universities, seems like national U’s have gained applicants for the most part, and national LACs lost applicants.

Papa Chicken, according to Wellesley College, the number of applicants is up this year, with 4125 applicants seeking admission (sorry I do not have the last year’s numbers for comparison).
