Some medical schools require a year of calculus. Do they accept applied calculus?

Well, some really means just a few, like four or five (I think it’s Harvard, Hopkins, Duke, WashU, and maybe Mayo, but I’m not sure). That said, for many others, a year of calculus is still encouraged and many that don’t require the full year require a semester of Statistics instead.

As for accepting applied calculus, I guess it would depend on what such a class consists of at your school, but my inclination would be to say no. A year of calculus usually means Calc I and Calc II, or whatever the numbering system is at your school, the classes that would be taken by math majors, engineers, etc.
