Applied Ethics

I’m considering maybe minoring in applied ethics. Do any of you know what the curiculum for an applied ethics minor (or major) is like?

No, not so sure. I imagine it will include some sort of basic philosophy curriculum with additional classes focusing on ethics and ethical theories. Take some classes, see if it interests you.

Hmm, I’m thinkin’ maybe a general philosophy minor might be better for me. I dunno though, I’m set on majoring in english, because it’s the greatest subject in the world. But, I’m also very interested in History, Philosophy, Politics, and Classics. Too bad their isn’t a minor that incorporates all four :(

Well, you can always gear your classes towards your interests. No need to fulfill requirements that don’t interest you as much as stuff you could choose on your own, right? But you could so some sort of concentration within one, whichever draws your attention.

Heh, philosophy sort of does comprise all the subjects you mentioned. You cannot be a serious student of philosophy without a good understanding of history, and the classics are constantly referenced in philosophical literature. Also, political theory, is highly philosophical, and constitutes a large part of politics proper.
