Heya, CC community
As of now I plan on applying to Cornell ED this fall (2011) to enroll in fall of 2012. I am currently at the end of Junior year.

It is probably worth noting to you all that I attend a prestigious New England boarding school and by “average” i mean the average as based off the general population of the private boarding school that I attend.

I have mostly B’s and some A’s in average courses (~3.2 GPA since freshman year; unweighted)
I plan on taking AP math courses next year as well as AP econ (macro and micro)

My SAT is about a 1250/1600
My ACT is about a 27 composite
(writing/english are bogging me down)
taking SAT II in about 2 weeks but those should be solid

I know they take work experience into tremendous consideration for the hotel school in order to find the students that best “FIT” the program
I have worked in the hospitality/hotel industry for almost 4 years:
2 years with Choice International
1 year with IHG (InterContinental Hotel Group)
1 year with Hilton International
as well as a period where a Choice property underwent a change of flags into a Hilton property and was an independent hotel for a period of 2 months. I had created a fully functional website for this independent hotel that was only in use for these 2 months.

As for this coming summer I am currently working on securing a job at a Marriott or a Starwood property in Boston as a front desk representative.

I have attended numerous brand conferences up and down the east coast throughout the years. As you can probably tell, I have known for a while that Hotels/Hospitality is my passion. I intend to pursue this passion whole-heartedly wether or not I get into Cornell but I most certainly hope i am accepted. I would greatly appreciate it if the CC community, especially current or incoming hotelies could provide honest feedback on the information I have provided.

With Great Thanks, AP
