I’m not happy with my SAT scores, though they’re above 2000
C:700 M:740 W:670

Should I apply now, or next year??
I know Ivy or Harvard is not everything…
but there are reasons I’m choosing it.

I have brilliant ECs, strong personality, passionate about hobbies etc.

I’m thinking of actually putting in effort and study for the SATs and apply for H next year.
Or should I simply just try my luck this year?

I would suggest you go ahead and apply and then retake the SAT on Jan 22.

:( Problem is I will not be available to retake the Jan SAT.
Sigh. What a dilemma

I have similar attributes, and I’m applying. I definitely think you should
My sats are similar, and I am also incredibly passionate about my hobby (politics), and have a lot other interesting things about me

Thanks…

sigh. a score at 600s is just kind of saddening.

If only I write fast enough and finish my essay. I have so much to write!

I would seriously consider applying next year with those scores. That way you will have plenty of time to do better on the SAT and have an entire year to write your essays and create a winning application. I’m assuming you’re a senior now–so in addition to all that, it would give you a year off to just be a person and do what you like when you are finished with your applications.
