Let’s say Dartmouth is my first choice and I apply Early Decision.

Is there anything from discouraging me from applying early to every other school I am considering applying to that offers early action? (This would probably be about 4 or 5 other schools.) All doing this would entail would be sending out the common application a few more times, and maybe filling out one or two proprietary applications for schools that dont take the common app.

The reason I’m asking is because I don’t hear about a lot of people applying early to six places - but it seems to make sense in that you gain an advantage to more schools in exchange for a marginally greater amount of work.
