How hard would it be for a non-disabled student to get a single dorm room.

This year I live in Bowles in a quad, which is good because my roommate can sleep hours before/after me and we would not affect eachothers ability to sleep.

This would not be true if I were in a double/triple next year, and hence it appears that I have only a couple options assuming I do not get the RA position I applied for:

Come to Bowles as a mentor and either get a single or a quad

Apply for single everywhere on the housing app

Get an apartment

why don’t you look for an aparmtent, or room in a house or something?

I’d prefer being in the dorms for atleast one more year

btw when do continuing students need to sign up for next year’s dorms? What’s the deadline and website? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure there are no single rooms in the Units (at least 1 and 2), except for the RA’s rooms and maybe disabled students. I think Bowles has some singles…not sure if Foothill or Clark Kerr has them. Anyway, they’re pretty darn rare, so if you don’t get that RA position…well good luck.

Continuing students should get them sometime 2nd semester…I think around April. You’ll get an email about it.

“which is good because my roommate can sleep hours before/after me and we would not affect eachothers ability to sleep”

Get earplugs. Works for me.

^Blue Elmo, it isn’t about sound, it’s about light

Tell your roommate to turn off the lights except for a desk lamp when you sleep and vice versa.

well you could turn yourself into a ninja, like my roommate from last year. Wrap a small towel around your head.
Incidentally, it’s weird how people can’t sleep when it’s bright. For me, I could have a light bulb right on top of my head and I could fall asleep.
