applying for Byzantine art history

I’m almost decided on what I like to do in graduate school. For this focus, I think I’m pretty decently prepared. I’m taking intermediate greek, french composition. Unfortunately I haven’t taken any Byzantine history or art history classes, but have taken some Classics. Also I intend to write a paper using Gibbon’s footnotes, primary & secondary sources to demonstrate my seriousness. I’m thinking of sending in the notes I took on the entire 6 tomes of unabridged Gibbon.

The question I want to ask is: Is unit-overloading frowned upon? I want to take Latin intermediate, but have alot of classes already this term. Plus, For EVERY languages, I skipped several levels: French (1 quarter), Italian (3 quarters), Greek (2 quarters), Latin (if I enroll, then 3 Quarters). Now, is skipping levels frowned upon?
