Applying for Fall 2011 but will not be in country until August. Any problems?

Hi, well I plan to apply to transfer this year for the Fall 2011 semester. Through a lot of AP credits and some high unit semesters, I will be done with all of my IGETC and major prerequisites by the end of this fall. I’m going on an 8 month trip to Korea for some volunteer and internship work in January and will be back late July-early August. Now I’m wondering if this would be a problem at all if I am accepted at a school? For example, are there any documents (IGETC certification perhaps) that must be turned in in person or mailed? If so, is it possible to do this stuff in advance while I’m still in the States?

Thanks in advance!!

Application can be done online, transcripts too. You can send AP/IB scores by phone/mail. IGETC certification varies by school; I had to go in person, but I’m sure you can easily arrange something since you’ve already completed IGETC.
If you need to apply for financial aid or loans then you might need to prepare more documents.
Since you have a valid reason, even if you turn in a few documents a little late I don’t think it would be such a huge problem.

You will also likely miss some non required campus event.

Thanks! I guess I will look into getting my IGETC certification extra early and regarding extra documents for financial aid/loans wouldn’t it be possible to have my father prepare those documents and send it in for me?
