Applying For Scholarships After Frosh Year

Hi, I was admitted EA to University of Michigan and I’m interested in learning about scholarships available after freshman year.

So, I know that there are some out there, but how many and what sort of monetary value are we looking at? (I’d be in LSA, if that means anything)

Also, what do these upper year scholarships look at? Do they use HS GPA/SAT/HS rank or is it just university GPA (and ECs?)?

Thanks.

High school stuff becomes irrelevant very early on. They’ll use your undergraduate GPA - but of course, they’ll also look at which courses you’re taking, what projects you’re working on, which profs you’ve impressed, what type of academic activities and societies you’re involved in, and much more.

Non-academic ECs are a lot less relevant. These are primarily academic scholarships.

Yeah I need to make a resume for one scholarship but I just have one semster under my belt so u am unsure of what to put in it. I’ll have to add some HS stuff

When do students normally apply for these upper year scholarships? (end of first year, middle, somewhere in between?)

And does anyone have a sort of estimate of the value of these scholarships?
