Hi everyone, I’m currently a sophomore at a community college. My freshman year I went to Drexel for a computer science major. Long story short, I disliked my major and wasn’t used to the amount of freedom I had away from home, and ended up getting a 2.0 GPA that year.

After that, I transferred to the CC I go to currently, as a general studies major. I cleaned up my act, and got a 3.6 GPA last semester, and expect to do about as well if not better this semester. I’ve only taken social science, humanities, and philosophy classes this year. After taking a couple of psychology classes, I’ve decided that I want to do a neuroscience program. I did a bit of research and found that it would be very beneficial to do some research or an internship.

I’ve looked through this list of neuroscience/biology-related summer programs here: [Neuroscience[/url]. I’ve only found about 6 that I haven’t missed the deadlines yet (most are March 30th, one or 2 are around April 15th). However, they all have a minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 or 3.2. Even if I get a 4.0 this semester, my GPA would still only be around 2.8-2.9. What should I do?

I haven’t had any neuroscience classes yet, and I haven’t taken biology/chemistry since high school. The only science classes I’ve taken are physics (mechanics), psych 101, social psych, and sociology. Would this be a problem?

Also, I’m also applying to transfer to a few 4 year schools starting this fall. I haven’t been accepted to any yet. What should I do for my resume? Should I include both Drexel and the community college, along with the school(s) I’ll be transferring to? How would this work?

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Here’s a preliminary list of the research internships I’m looking at:
