applying online?

<p>I’m going to grad school so I won’t be applying for any jobs for a while but I’m curious. </p>

<p>Does applying online EVER work? I know for new grads the resume just goes into an abyss never to be heard from (except for the automatically generated email!) but what about for more experienced engineers?</p>

<p>I can’t see a company having a whole online process if thier goal is to not hire you…</p>
