Applying to 1 School for Specialized Field?

I know traditionally it’s expected that students apply to several to have top picks, safety schools, etc. However, I’m planning to apply to a master’s program for design anthropology in London. Within the field, this program is really the only one that is specific to design anthropology. The programs in the US are all general applied anthropology and therefore, even if I did apply I don’t feel I have the interest to accept even if I were to be offered admission. I’m already working full-time, so if I don’t get accepted to the program, I’m not limited as far as the next step. Does anyone have experience with applying to only 1 master’s program? Thanks in advance!

I applied to just a lone MS program in engineering at the University of Houston. It’s a specialized course under an established department and there are no other similar programs, atleast within the states (I’m an international student). Like you I am working as well.

Apart from the fact that I was able to give my full efforts to the admission program, my graduate statement may have been the best piece of writing I have produced in years, and my resume was beautiful. I am certain my focus to the program helped me secure a seat in a competitive environment. Apart from this, I was able to strongly justify my motivations for financing, scholarships and (I hope) potentially my visa interviewer.

Good luck to you! I am certain you will get the result in your favour.

Thank you so much for the insight! Good luck to you as well!
