Thereby making my post look silly! 
We live not far from this high school and know many family there. It is true the student has a guaranteed admission. Pretty cool program as one of few state run HS in NC (the HS itself is a part of UNC System.)
I will add that a guaranteed admission doesn’t guarantee major or any specific program.

Correct, it’s 3.5w and above to qualify for the tuition grant. Does not cover room, board or fees. Also, you can still go for Morehead, Park, and Robertson!
